Description

In collaboration between computer science and textile design, a programme was developed that recomposes fragments of historical weaves in a self-organised way. It offers a potentially industrially usable extension for the production of textile weaves. Digitised hand drawings of fabric bindings from the university‘s own textile archive served as image templates for the implementation. The resulting series of six color-coordinated jacquard woven fabrics is exemplary for this programme-controlled design.
