Aera presents a woven plywood structure which adapts to the body’s weight and shape by allowing deformations within its volume. Making use of the high bending strength of birch plywood, the elements react elastically under pressure and create a spring effect. For use on the floor, in or outdoors, the mat delivers a comfortable, sprung support. Mounted on a bench frame, it provides space for two people. The fragmented arrangement of plywood pieces can be bent, compressed and stretched like a textile.
