Description

Growing plants, especially eatable plants can bring joy and well being to our lives. Hortus transfers the technique of hydroponics in an esthetically pleasing and very functional way to the home. Two stacked ceramic pots serve as a container for the water-based nutrient solution. The inner pot holds the plants, wich grow out of a coconut fibre base. It has cut outs on the bottom, so the water you pore in to the bigger pot flows inside. This feature ensures that the roots of the plants are always protected from the sun's rays and can get new water at the same time. Due to the open water surface all around the smaller pot the water provides the plants with extra oxygen.
