Description

Highly sculptural yet still functional, this project focuses on blurring the boundaries between art and design – sculpture and furniture – and aims to push the boundaries of stone carving. The object is hand-sculpted out of a single piece of Swedish diabase, mined from a local quarry in Brännhult, and exhibits the heterogeneous nature of the material. The result is a biomorphic sculpture/furniture item in which the alien and the manmade seem to merge.
