Call for entries for one&twenty 2023: The German Design Council will be presenting 21 up-and-coming international designers at Milan Design Week 2023
»one&twenty – world’s best design talents«: the German Design Council is underlining the international focus of its young talent competition with a new name (previously »ein&zwanzig«). one&twenty honours 21 outstanding achievements of young, up-and-coming product designers and showcases the winners at an exclusive exhibition in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2023. Potential entrants from around the world can now submit their work for consideration at www.one-and-twenty.de.
The competition – which is aimed at design students and graduates, as well as up-and-coming talents and newcomers, in the fields of product design and lifestyle – now has a new name: one&twenty. Aspiring designers from universities and academies around the world are now invited to submit their work. The international expert jury will select a total of 21 outstanding entries from all projects submitted for the one&twenty competition, with one entry honoured as »Best of Best« and the remaining twenty receiving the title »Winner«. The award-winning products will then go on show from 17 to 23 April 2023 alongside the Salone del Mobile 2023 in Milan. After all, profile and networking are vital factors in terms of ensuring that design students and graduates get their careers off to a flying start. With this in mind, the German Design Council is offering talented young designers an opportunity to present themselves and their work to an international audience and be part of the world-renowned furniture fair. By taking part, talented young designers also gain access to the German Design Council’s unique network of members, allowing them to make important contacts. Previous winners have succeeded in establishing many long-term networks and collaborations in this way.
The 21 projects will be presented in a high-quality designed exhibition, with previous year’s exhibitions created by renowned professionals such as Hamburg-based Studio Besau-Marguerre, the Danish designer Nina Bruun, and Studiopepe’s Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto.
